Lewis Hamilton wins Russian Grand Prix Formular 1-An Overview
Lewis Hamilton won the Russian Grand Prix for the second time in his career on Sunday, comfortably passing off the baton to teammate Daniel Ricciardo during the race. After the race, Ricciardo admitted that he didn’t even know what Hamilton was doing, but then again, he also didn’t have a chance to fully comprehend the car’s tendencies during the race. Hamilton, on the other hand, could only think of how easy it was to beat Ricciardo during the past races. Checkout flags.
Hamilton, who has held the Italian and British Grand Prix championships, has been fighting for a spot in the final next year’s championship picture. He admitted that he wanted to secure a podium in Russia, but not to surpass Ricciardi and Ferrari. Hamilton stated that he already knows what the team is planning to do to him, but he is happy just to have the title as a goal.
The win was Hamilton’s 24th of the season, tying him with teammate Mark Webber. The victories put Hamilton in a commanding lead over the rest of the drivers, including newcomer Sebastian Vettel. Webber is now third while Ricciardi, Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton, and Ricciardo are all tied for fourth. Next Sunday will be the penultimate race of the season for Hamilton. Both he and Webber are aware that they will be fighting for second place, but they are confident that they can surpass the leaders and be within a couple of points of Mercedes Benz in the Constructors’ Championship.
